Collective punishment, Adam's troubles and more.

Let's talk about class and punishment. Have you ever been in a class that was so noisy that a tutor had to enter and put it in order sometimes through the use of a cane or other corporal punishments? Such an instance mostly occur in schools but usually, there is that student that was never part of the disturbance. He sometimes is asleep, reading or with his smartphone trying to make life more meaningful for himself and sometimes for others. The catch: collective punishment.

Collective punishment is simply defined as when a group of people suffer for the negligence of others, sometimes just one or two. The creation story according to the Bible is one of the exacting cases of collective punishment. The problem though, Eve said was the snake, Adam said it was the woman that God gave him. The snake, Adam and Eve became the origin of a collective punishment that resulted in the need for atonement.

Besides Adam, there can be several cases of collective punishment. We can make mention of infectious diseases and their spread, wars and rumours of wars as well as location and stereotypes. In my country Ghana for example, mentioning your tribe will call for at least one stereotype. That's not because of usually the majority: mostly its because of the known. The more those known buttress a stance the more likely it will be generalised. To end, I will say collective punishment and unmerited add-ons are becoming part of society, we have to therefore find a way to when caught therein, bail ourselves and the innocent out.
