Basketball's gamer, Soccer's Fouler
Consider the scenario, 'there the ball rolled towards the net'. Your comment was requested on what a player will do given where they stand. Mine follows hereafter: For an opposing team if not a goalie, the best choice, try as much as possible to keep the ball out of the net. For an attacking team, try as much as possible to get the ball into the net. A gamer saves and is applauded by getting the ball out of the net for their team, annulling the score of points with their hands. A fouler like Suarez without any option will with their hand, remove the ball from the goal post if need be: but that comes with a consequence, a penalty kick which per research has a 75% chance of entering the net. These two scenarios have the same set of items arguably: a net and a ball, but players in these instance have the option to save the day or create a foul. The choice a player makes may decide the fate of their team! Like Suarez , you can be a fouler and save the day! Otherwise like Jordan, you can be a gamer and still save the day. The choice arguably is always yours.
